TREND REPORT - 1970S FASHION BACK IN STYLE

Fashion got a taste for folk this season with fashion houses like Dior, Missoni or Loewe which mixed textures and patterns creating very 1970s looks and made Jimmy Hendrix play his magic guitar one last time up in heaven and made every ex Jim Morrison groupie young and horny again. But hey, we are all storm riders at heart, aren’t we?

Anyways, the Spring-summer 2019 girl has run off to Woodstock again! Well, in this case Tulum or Ibiza and she definitely packed her favorite tie-dye shirt and crochet dress which she’ll 100% remove after a couple of drinks making a statement for the “Free the nipple” movement.

Wearing headbands, layers, seashells and any found item as jewelry, we can utterly and honestly say the 70’s are back!

This trend, of course, is not only bohemian chic or “hippie” as one might think but it is also a way of escapism and facilitates the exploration of other times, almost like jumping into a time machine and discovering a record player for the first time.

The designers who led this trend this season are nonetheless Chloe and fellow Parisian: Paco Rabanne. Wild hair or short hair á la garçonne also played an important part in this trend as it is careless and free.

Nevertheless, The 1970’s will always be a trend but to see them as close and personal as this season did: it’s simply unmistakingly, genuinely, unforgettably gorgeous and even maybe empowering and I can’t wait to strut around Mykonos wearing flowers in my head, found trash as earrings and my favorite acid washed jeans with my macramé belt !
